Vintage Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls Set of Four Complete

This is a set of four Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls, one bisque, three plastic. All have Nancy Ann or Storybook Markings on back. These dolls were made in California from the 1930s to the 1950s, by the designer Nancy Ann Abbott.

Description: Each doll has a pair of bloomers with dress, (I handmade a pair of bloomers for one doll), and three have a hat. The plastic dolls have a snap at back of dress for removal. One (Bisque, blond hair, white dress with red hearts) has a matching long sash, which holds up her full dress. The dress was originally stitched onto her body and shoulders but I removed for cleaning. The clothes are machine made and hand made and beautifully designed. The hats are felt or paper with ribbon/hairpin detail. Painted lips and eyelashes, along with painted black shoes. Bisque doll (oldest) has jointed arms only and fixed legs and head. The other three dolls are made of plastic with jointed arms and legs. I think the hair is called mohair. Some parts of the original hairstyles have been preserved. Doll with long red dress and red felt hat has spring jointed legs. Three plastic dolls have sleepy eys that work.

Condition: Fair to Good for Age. The dolls have been stored a long time, so I washed gently the clothing (not hats) in baking soda/borax/gentle detergent solution and air dried. Each dolly had a baby wipe cleansing bath and some time sunbathing naked on a windy day! I removed the old tape closure for the bloomers and added new fabric tape after washing clothes. Some tape residue remains. Two dolls have red stains on plastic bodies from the red garments. Some paint markings near black painted boots and some marking on plastic arms & legs due to age. Some age stains on dresses or hats or muslin slips or bloomers and dolls may still have a slight odor. There are some glue stains on cheeks and neckline from the hair glue. Thus the reduced price. Size: Bisque doll: almost 5.5 inches tall. Other three are the standard 5.75 inches.
Age: The bisque doll was made in the 1930s (1936-1947). The other were made later, in the 1940s or 1950s.

Shipping: They will be carefully and individually wrapped in new tissue paper, fully dressed, with silica gel desiccant and outer layer of bubble wrap---all together in one sturdy box.
