Vintage Handmade Mexican Marionette Souvenir Gourd Doll Artesana

This is a Paper Mache Mexican Marionette Souvenir Gourd Doll. The lovely maiden was not found with the sticks or string, but under the sleeves is the metal ring (attached to the arms) for the puppeteer string. She does not appear to have been used as a puppet as the outfit/feet/shoes are very clean. She carries a metal strainer. Her outfit includes a peach floral skirt. Matching lace has been added to the blouse sleeves and the skirt. She has a slip and underwear. She wears handmade leather sandals. Her hair is braided black string tied with red satin ribbons. Her face is is handpainted oil cloth. I believe that she has a metal core, so may be slightly posable. She can stand on her own, but would be best with a support stand.

Age: Best Guess? 1950s-1970s.

Condition: Overall Very Good. Excellent color and she has only a few holes in her satin blouse, and a few small facial cracks in the paint.

Size: Just over 10 inches tall, and approximately 4 inches wide.
