Ceramic teapot in rose pink with white and black art deco pattern.
Fun art deco pattern and soft glaze. May be part of a chocolate pot set or an espresso set. I have seen photos of another full set in soft green, and another photo of the teapot only with "Made in Japan" in script on bottom. See last photo for the full set matching this style teapot.
Size: Teapot is about 8″ tall.
Condition: Very good but handle of lid is missing. Also small chip on inside of lid. The inside is very clean--does not look used and has no grazing.
This set probably dates to the 1930’s or 1940s. It is foreign made, most like from Japan.
From Wikipedia: "The Art Deco design style first appeared in France after WW I and began flourishing internationally in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s before its popularity waned after WW II. It is an eclectic style that combines traditional craft motifs with Machine age imagery and materials. The style is often characterized by rich colors, bold geometric shapes and lavish ornamentation."
